One of my dear friends lived in Seattle for a brief time. It was because of her expert recommendations that we were able to enjoy a sampling of the best the city had to offer, leaving the rest for the next trip.
Seattle's weather was cheerful and sunny causing Pike's Place to bulge with people bustling shoulder to shoulder through the stimulating farmer's market. Flowers danced with color so splendid every arrangement sparkled. Long hallways were lined with pasta and seafood vendors who were squeezed together with perfection. The close quarters provided an opportunity for tasting fresh mountain bread and smoked salmon.
My whole family dined at a few unforgettable eateries, local coffee bars, and stood out happily at the University of Washington. College students finishing their finals often hurried past our group not seeming to appreciate our casual stroll. My uncle, never shy, cupped his hands around his mouth in order to holler out "What time is our class?"
It was a treat to discover that our family of 19 could travel swiftly and with fury through the energetic city. Although as much as I enjoyed soaking up the culture of Seattle, it still needed a Williams-Noland-Tucker touch. Most of us did not hesitate to sprinkle our own unique personality throughout the city and among the people we met!
